ABOUT THE PROBLEMS YOUR HAVING WITH YOUR 7. AFTER ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER BUYING MY 87 REX I EXPERIENCED POWER LOSS. AND
I MEAN BIG POWER LOSS. THE CAR STRUGGLED IN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR, BUT THIRD AND ON, IT WOULD RUN FINE. I PUT THE CAR
ON THE RACK AND STARTED BANGING ON THE CAT CONVERTER. WOW. THERE WAS DEFFINTLY SOMETHING LOOSE IN THERE. I TOOK THE CAT
OFF. THE WHOLE CAT WAS CLOCKED, I HAD ABOUT 1 INCH OF BREATHING ROOM FOR THE EXHAUST TO PASS THROUGH. SO I GUTTED OUT
THE CATS. HUGE, AND I MEAN HUGE DIFFERENCE. THE CAR RUNS ABOUT 110% BETTER. I MAY NOT PASS EMISSIONS, BUT THATS OK. ALL
I HAVE TO DO IS GO TO MIDAS OR ANOTHER LOCAL EXHAUST PLACE AND GET THEM TO PUT ON A CHEAP CAT FOR ABOUT 2O0 DOLLARS OR LESS
AND GO GET MY EMMISSION, PASS, AND THEN TAKE THOSE ENVIROMENTAL PIECE OF JUNK CATS OFF AND REPLACE THEM WITH MY GUTTED CATS!
ROTARY GENERATED A LOT OF HEAT, HEATING UP THE CATS AND CAUSING EXHUAST FALURE.
J, GET UNDER THE CAR AND BANG ON THE CATS WITH A HAMMER. IF YOU HEAR RADDLING, THEN THIS IS MORE THEN LIKELY YOUR PROBLEM.
IF NOT, TRY THE FUEL FILTER, ADJUST THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR TO SPECS, CHECK YOUR PLUGS AND WIRES. TRUST ME. THE LITTLE
THINGS MAY MAKE THE DIFFERENCE. MY BEST SUGGESTION WOULD BE TO TAKE THE CAR TO A PROFFESIONAL. NOT THE DEALER! TELL THEM
TO PUT THE CAR ON THE COMPUTER. FROM THIS POINT THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO PIN POINT THE PROBLEM. NEVER TRUST THE DEALER!
PS. CHECK YOUR PLUGS. MAKE SURE THEY ARE THE RIGHT ONES. YOU HAVE 2 DIFFERENT PLUGS THAT GO IN YOUR CAR. 2 ARE FOR THE
LEADING AND THE OTHER TWO ARE THE TRAILING PLUGS. IF THEY ARE BACKWARDS, THEN YOUR CAR IS NOT GOING TO RUN GOOD AT ALL.
