There are some rather sizable discreprencies between the engine harnesses between early and late modely 2nd gens. If I were you, I would look for a front cover from a late model engine and install it. The blocks are almost the same (except for the compression ratios and some other minor things). Does the engine you're using have the intake manifolds a VDI stuff from the later model or is it just a early 2nd gen block with the later 2nd gen stuff on it?

: The only thing you can do is replace the ECU, and AFC box. The fuel computer shouldn't cause any problems, but the ECU and AFC will. The wiring harness should also be ok.

: : help--i bought an 89 GTU and it has an 86-88 engine in it!!--i know i got screwed but i have to figure out how to make it run right--it has a 89 computer and wire harness--i need to find out how to fool the ECU into not looking for the electronic oil metrering pump(the 86-88 pump is not electronic)--nbecause it looks for it and cant find it--after about 15 minutes it tries to shut the engine down--does anyone know how i can do this?--any help would be GREAT
