: Hi. I have a 1986 RX-7 non-turbo. The problem I have is my car has no power at all. It has absolutely no power at take off and low power at higher rpm's. I have done everything I can think of to fix the problem but to no avail. I have made sure the 6 ports are working, i have gutted the cats, i have made sure the engine is getting air and have replaced all filters. If anyone knows anything at all that causes no power could you please tell me. Could be the engine is just tired or maybe the apex and side seals are bad. But the engine sounds perfect when idling. Thanks for any help

Hmmm.... I'll just start naming things- if you've done them then just move on to the next one:
1. Timing
2. TPS adjustment (or replacement if it's busted)
3. Dashpot adjustment (actually it does help)
4. Clean injectors
5. Fuel filter
6. Open exhaust (gutted cats) will actually loose low end torque but should make up in high end power, but shouldn't be real bad
7. Air Flow Meter is busted or sticking
8. Low compression (let's hope not)
9. Slipping clutch
10. Are you sure it lacks power (I mean have you driven another to know the difference?) Remember your looking at 146hp and 138ft lbs torque

Hope any of these help,
zakaron
