There are a few good posts much further down the board (my it's grown since then!). Use your browser's search and look for msd, hit it a couple times to get all the posts listed. I don't have any alternative ignition/spark control on my car, but I hear the MSD is very good for the money (cheaper than Jacob's with identical performance). And actually the stock ignition and coils are very good and should only be replaced with a heavily modified engine. The stock stuff here will do just fine; you may only notice a slight difference, but it's your choice. Personally I would look into such things as a pulley kit and electric fan or if your feeling bold go with some intake/exhaust engine porting :)
Good luck with whatever you decide,
zakaron
