Im i hurting performance??????

This week Im planning on taking out my cats and running a straight pipe to my N1 muffler wich I already have installed accompanied by a K&N cone filter with a homemade CAI. So my question is, am I hurting low,mid,or high end power by making a straight pipe???
Bythe way its 2.5inch pipe.
Oh ya one last question when i do run a straight pipe and remove my cats can I expect some flames out of my 1991 coupe????
