whoops, I said "removing the cats" in the other post, I meant "removing the airpump"
damn, been awhile since I've posted here.
anyways, yeah, Paul is right removing the airpump will make it so your 6-ports won't open. I took my airpump off to see how much of a difference it made. I am currently running no cats, and my car backfires EVERY high RPM shift in 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3rd. After removing my airpump, my car no longer backfired, but I also had noticeably less acceleration. It was still quick, but it was definently missing power. You can still run with no CATS and just remove the SAP from the airpump that normally runs to the CAT. I am STILL planning on permanently removing my airpump, but I am going to have to tap into my downpipe and create a way to run a line to my 6-ports to make them still open. You probably won't shoot flames with just no CATS. I don't. If you are running no CATS AND have an aftermarket catback with more free flowing mufflers than stock, you will shoot flames.

: : Since here where i live in Florida they dont have any ,ore inspections im thinking of possibly removing the cats and the air pump. Question is will my 91 n/a work fine without the airpump and cats??? Also ive heard that n/a RX-7s sjoot out a ball of fire how could i do this without hurting my engine.
: : any replies would be greatly appreciated
: Your 5th and 6th intake ports will not open without the airpump on your car. This will hinder top end performance greatly. You could wire those ports open, ubt would lose a lot of low RPM power.
: Removing the cats will probably result in flames whenever you back out of the gas after a hard run through your RPM band.
